Former Inter and Napoli striker Arturo Di Napoli feels that Benfica have improved a lot this season and will certainly be formidable opposition for the Nerazzurri, but that they will ultimately be beatable.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, the former striker compared the Portuguese side’s style of play to Serie A league leaders Napoli, but noted that the quality of Inter’s squad could be a key factor.

Inter could well be feeling that they have gotten the most straightforward draw possible for the quarterfinals of the Champions League insofar as they have avoided the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

However, the Nerazzurri will certainly not want to underestimate a team who, in addition to flying high domestically have also managed to top a group containing the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

Furthermore, the Portuguese league-leaders also progressed from their round of sixteen tie against Club Brugge by an aggregate scoreline of 7-1.

“Benfica have improved a lot in their style of play,” Di Napoli said.

“The way that they play reminds me of Napoli.”

The former striker then said that “I still think that Inter can handle that tie, though, particularly with how good their squad is, they have a really brilliant squad.”

“The crucial thing will be that they don[‘t underestimate their opponents.”
