Former Inter striker Christian Vieri feels that the Nerazzurri can have the decisive advantage over Benfica in their Champions League round of sixteen tie due to the quality of their squad.
Speaking on his Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, the former striker predicted that the Nerazzurri will reach the semifinals of the Champions League.
Inter will not be underestimating Benfica, who have not only been flying high atop their domestic league table, but have also gotten eye-catching results against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus in Europe.
The overall sense is that the Lisbon-based team’s successes this season have come down to their collective style of play as opposed to the individual quality in their squad.
From Vieri’s perspective, however, the quality of Inter’s individual players can be the telling factor in the quarterfinal tie against Benfica.
The former Inter striker believes that his former side have the better squad of the two teams, and that this will prove decisive.
“Inter have the stronger squad for me, and I think that will make the difference in the end,” Vieri said.
“I think the Nerazzurri will reach the semifinals.”
