Premier League club Aston Villa are interested in signing striker Romelu Lukaku in the event that Inter don’t decide to extend his loan from Chelsea.

This according to UK tabloid The Sun, who report that the Birmingham-based team are weighing up a move for the Belgian during the summer transfer window in the event that the Nerazzurri decline to bring him back or cannot agree a new loan deal with the Blues.

As things stand, Lukaku’s priority is to remain at Inter past the end of the current season.

However, there is no certainty that the Nerazzurri will decide to extend the 29-year-old’s loan move past the end of the campaign based on his performances, not least because Simone Inzaghi may not be the coach at the start of next season.

Accordingly, Villa believe that there could be a chance to sign Lukaku for next season according to The Sun, and they will be ready to try and move during the summer window.
