Prior to yesterday evening’s match against Juventus, it had been a hallmark of Inter’s season since the return from the winter break that they saved their best performances for the biggest matches.

However, as Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport note, via FCInterNews, this is certainly no longer the case as the Nerazzurri appeared hapless and unprepared to fall to defeat against the Bianconeri.

Wins against the likes of Napoli and AC Milan as well as Atalanta in the Coppa Italia have clearly shown the best of what this Inter team is capable of on the biggest stage.

Accordingly, there could have been some expectation that a Derby d’Italia match against an in-form Juventus team would be the perfect occasion for the Nerazzurri to put their unexpected Serie A defeat away to Spezia behind them with gusto.

This was not to be the case, though, as in front of a packed San Siro Inter put in a performance that was nowhere close to what they had produced against Napoli or Milan, bringing a positive run in these kinds of matches to a clear and decisive end.
