Serie A referee-designator Gianluca Rocchi has been annoyed by Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s decision to take aim at the referees in his remarks after the Nerazzurri’s loss to Juventus yesterday evening.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, who report that Rocchi was not a fan of the performance by match official Daniele Chiffi, but that he also did not like that Inzaghi came out swinging asking for “respect” from officials.

Inzaghi made no effort to hide his feelings after yesterday evening’s match, as the 46-year-old focused on what he viewed as a clearly incorrect decision to award Juventus’s opening goal despite an apparent handball in the buildup.

The coach vented his frustration with the lack of transparency regarding the decision, asking for “respect” from the match referees.

For his part, Rocchi felt that referee Chiffi did not do a very good job in how he handled the match, not whistling for fouls often enough.

However, the referee-designator has also felt that Inzaghi went over the line in his reaction to the handball incident, according to Mediaset.
