Inter have made initial contact with the father and agent of Tigre striker Mateo Retegui.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri have made clear their interest in signing the 23-year-old to his father Carlos Retegui, and that they could use striker Facundo Colidio as part of a deal to sign him.

Retegui has come onto the radar of a number of clubs in Serie A, La Liga, and the Premier League based on his form for Argentine side Tigre over the past few months.

The 23-year-old’s form for Tigre has earned him a call-up for the Italian national team, as he holds an Italian passport, which has increased the sense of interest around him.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter have not wanted to wait around and have made contact to try and get things moving on a possible move similar to the one which saw them sign Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club in the summer of 2018.

Moreover, the fact that Inter-owned striker Colidio is of interest to Boca Juniors, who would be entitled to part of the fee for a sale of Retegui, and Tigre, where he is on loan, could help the Nerazzurri sign Retegui.
