Inter are stepping up their pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg defender Oumar Solet for the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 23-year-old is seen as an ideal replacement for Milan Skriniar, and that he would cost around €15 million.

Inter have to sign a defender to replace Skriniar given that the Slovakian’s intention to leave and join Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season has long been clear.

A number of names have emerged on the Nerazzurri’s list, but according to the Gazzetta, they are increasingly convinced that Salzburg defender Solet could be the right option.

The Frenchman is seen as having the right attributes to come in and replace Skriniar like-for-like on the right side of the back three, and he is also capable of playing more centrally.

The €15 million asking price for Solet is seen as within reach, and the Nerazzurri could move for him in the summer.
