The plans for Inter and AC Milan to build a new stadium in place of the San Siro together are not yet dead, as the Rossoneri are still taking more time in submitting concrete plans to move to the La Maura area adjacent to the existing stadium.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that Milan have asked for an extension to the deadline for them to submit their alternative plans.

Earlier this month, the Rossoneri made clear to Inter and to Milan Mayor Beppe Sala that they are seriously considering the idea of changing course from existing plans to build a new stadium with Inter, to building on their own in the La Maura area.

Milan were given a three-week period to formulate their plans for the area, which is currently home to a practice course for the Hippodrome race track.

If the Rossoneri were to make a clear proposal regarding these plans and receive the go-ahead to begin construction, it would mean the death knell for the existing plans of building in place of the existing San Siro together with Inter.

However, the three-week deadline has now arrived and Milan have asked for an extension, so for the time being at least the existing plans are still a possibility.
