Inter’s protests for the Juventus goal in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia match concerned the touch on the ball by Bianconeri striker Dusan Vlahovic rather than midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

This according to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, who suggest that based on the video the Nerazzurri players were complaining to referee Daniele Chiffi primarily in reference to the Serb’s touch on the ball with his arm rather than the Frenchman’s.

Inter players did sense that there was a potential reason for Chiffi to speak with the VAR about overturning Filip Kostic’s first half goal for the Bianconeri yesterday evening.

Nicolo Barella, who had been closest to the incident, was the initial Inter player to lead the protests.

The fact that there had been an apparent handball by Juventus midfielder Rabiot has been the focus of a lot of the debate, but according to DAZN it is in fact a second potential handball by Vlahovic that the Inter players were actually asking to be looked at.

The broadcaster suggest that based on the video of the incident, it is the touch by the former Fiorentina striker with his arm to change the flight of the ball that the Nerazzurri players felt should have been reason enough to disallow the goal.
