Former Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus striker Aldo Serena feels that Romelu Lukaku could be the perfect replacement for Victor Osimhen at Napoli if the Nigerian were to leave.

Tweeting in response to transfer links for Osimhen to Premier League giants Manchester United, Serena named the Nerazzurri man as a potentially ideal replacement, arguing that the 29-year-old could revitalize his career at the Partneopei.

It would be fair to say that Lukaku’s return to Inter hasn’t gone according to plan, as the Belgian has not made the kind of impact that he had done during his first two seasons at the club.

Lukaku’s form this season has in fact resembled that which he showed at Chelsea last campaign much more closely than his form under Antonio Conte at Inter, with injuries also playing a major role.

It remains to be seen whether the Belgian will be brought back next season, although from Serena’s perspective, he could find an ideal place to find his best form again at a different Serie A club.

“If I were Spalletti and I couldn’t turn down a massive offer from an English club, I’d ask Spalletti if he’d be interested in replacing Osimhen with Lukaku,” Serena tweeted.

“If Inter no longer wanted to keep him, I think it could be the perfect place for him to relaunch himself,” he added.
