Inter defender Francesco Acerbi and midfielder Nicolo Barella will both start for the Italian national team in their EURO 2024 qualifying match against England this evening.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the pair will both be included in the Azzurri’s starting eleven as they kick off their qualifying campaign for the next edition of the Euros, whilst Matteo Darmian is on the bench.

All three of Acerbi, Barella, and Darmian were called up by Italy coach Roberto Mancini, whilst Federico Dimarco had to withdraw from the squad due to injury, the same reason that Alessandro Bastoni has stayed behind.

Defending European champions the Azzurri are set to get their qualifying campaign underway for the next edition of the tournament that they won two summers ago.

The complete Italy starting eleven to face England is as follows:

Italy (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Acerbi, Toloi, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Berardi, Retegui, Pellegrini.
