AC Milan look to be the likelier of the two Milan-based clubs to sign Tigre striker Mateo Retegui this summer rather than Inter.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that a move to Serie A is a real possibility for the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window but that the Rossoneri are ahead of their city rivals in the race.

Retegui’s form for Tigre this season has earned him a call-up to the Italian international team and also the interest of a number of clubs around Europe.

Inter have been one of the clubs most strongly linked with Retegui in recent weeks, but according to the Gazzetta it is instead their city rivals who could be the closer of the two clubs to signing him.

The newspaper reports that, as things stand, the Rossoneri have the advantage over the Nerazzurri in the race to sign the striker.
