Cameroonian national team head coach Rigobert Song feels that there is always a chance of Inter’s Andre Onana returning to the national team, but that it will depend on the player’s attitude.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInter1908, the Indomitable Lions coach gave his stance on whether or not the Nerazzurri goalkeeper could be welcomed back into the national team setup.

Onana was at the World Cup in Qatar with Cameroon, but the 26-year-old ended up dropped from the team due to reported disagreements with the coaching staff after the team’s first match of the tournament.

Not long after then, the Inter goalkeeper left the national team camp, and then formally announced his retirement from international football.

Cameroon coach Song was asked about the status of Onana, and from his perspective he indicated that there could be a chance for Onana to return, but that it would depend on the Inter player’s attitude.

“The door to the national team remains open for Onana,” Song said.

“But he has to understand what he wants.”

“Discipline is needed in a group, it’s up to him to become aware of that,” the coach suggested.

“He must respect the rules of the team because that’s my priority.”

“He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world but I can’t focus on individuals ahead of the collective,” Song added.
