Inter defender Milan Skriniar has hit back at suggestions that he has acted contrary to the wishes of his club’s medical staff.

Writing in a post on his Instagram story, via FCInterNews, the Slovakian made clear that as far as he is concerned, he has followed all advice that has been given to him by the Nerazzurri’s medical staff, despite reports that the club have been annoyed by some of his recent behaviour.

Skriniar’s back injury has already caused the 28-year-old to be out of action for Inter’s four most recent Serie A matches, whilst he has also missed out on EURO 2024 qualifies during the international break with his national team.

A report from the Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that Inter were also less than pleased with the fact that the former Sampdoria defender met with medical staff of Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week.

However, for his part, Skriniar has defended himself from the charge that he has in any way acted contrary to the wishes of Inter.

“I want to set the record straight that I have always followed all the medical advice given to me by Inter’s medical staff and their external specialists,” the Slovakian wrote on Instagram.

“Yesterday, Inter subjected me to another specialist appointment, which confirmed my diagnosis, and based on this, and in the presence of medical staff, I have started another round of treatments as recommended by the club’s trusted doctor,” he added.
