There is little doubt regarding the fitness of Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella for next Saturday’s Serie A match against Fiorentina despite the fact that he picked up a minor injury in Italy’s EURO 2024 qualifier against England.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 26-year-old is currently resting up and is expected to be fit for the Nerazzurri’s first match back from the international break.

Barella came off the pitch as a substitute during the second half of Italy’s loss to England on Thursday.

The reason for this was that the former Cagliari midfielder had sustained a contact injury, and the problem has also been sufficient to rule him out of participation in the Azzurri’s second qualifying match of the break, against Malta tomorrow.

However, according to the Corriere, the injury is not serious, and there is little doubt that Barella will be fit and available for Inter immediately after the break.
