Italian journalist Giancarlo Padovan believes that Napoli will move for current Inter striker Romelu Lukaku in the event that Victor Osimhen were to leave during the summer transfer window.

Writing in his column for Calciomercato.com, the journalist suggested that the 29-year-old Belgian international could be on the Partenopei’s radar now that it looks more and more likely that he will not return to Inter at the end of the current season when his loan from Chelsea runs out.

Whilst it had always seemed as though Inter have intended to keep hold of Lukaku past the expiration of his current loan deal, the Belgian’s form this season has made this seem less and less likely.

Accordingly, the Belgian will in all likelihood be in search of a new club for the start of next season where he can find his feet again and try to prove himself.

For his part, Italian journalist Padovan believes that Napoli could be that club if they lose their own star striker.

“I think De Laurentiis will have some ideas if key players leave,” he writes.

“If Osimhen were to be sold, I think Napoli will try to sign Lukaku, and for a winger, I think Berardi could replace Lozano,” he adds.
