Inter consider Tigre striker Mateo Retegui to be a serious target and will scout him at this evening’s EURO 2024 qualifying clash between Italy and Malta.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that Nerazzurri Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin will be at the match to watch the 23-year-old play for the Azzurri.

Retegui has come onto a number of European team’s radars recently particularly after his call-up by Italian national team coach Roberto Mancini, and according to the Corriere della Sera, Inter are serious about the young striker.

The newspaper report that the Nerazzurri would see Retegui as having the right profile to either back up Lautaro Martinez in the squad or to partner the 25-year-old in attack.

Inter continue to monitor Retegui with Baccin ready to see how the 23-year-old fares against Malta after his impressive goalscoring debut against England during the week.
