Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi has confirmed reports that Inter defender Milan Skriniar visited with doctors in France regarding his back injury, and that this was likely at the behest of Paris Saint-Germain.

Reporting in a video on his YouTube channel, Barzaghi explained the situation around the 28-year-old’s visit to a clinic in France on the way to meet with the Slovakian national team squad.

Skriniar has been recovering from a back problem for several weeks now, and has been diagnosed by both Inter’s medical staff and also by that of the Slovakian national team.

However, a third interested party also would seem to have gotten a medical assessment of the former Sampdoria defender’s condition, namely PSG.

Whilst according to Barzaghi it is not entirely confirmed that the French champions were the ones who set up Skriniar’s visit to a clinic in France, he believes that all signs certainly point to this being the case.

“I’ve managed to confirm that he did indeed travel to France to a medical clinic, where there are specialists who took a look at his back problem,” the journalist said.

“He underwent a medical consultation to get an overview of the situation, because the pain bothering him a lot, and has also radiated to his leg,” the journalist continued.

“Then, on Instagram, he made a point of clarifying on his Instagram account that he has always followed the advice of the Inter medical staff, going by the recovery plan that they’ve drawn up for him.”

“But there was no denial regarding the trip to France,” Barzaghi noted.

As for whether Skriniar’s consultation in France was done at the behest of PSG, the journalist explained that “While it’s not certain, it is very probable, as the clinic in question has close ties with the French club.”
