Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini expects that there is still much uncertainty surrounding the future of wingback Raoul Bellanova at Inter.

Writing in his column for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the journalist explained that as of right now, it is uncertain whether or not the Nerazzurri will decide to make the 22-year-old’s loan signing from Cagliari permanent ahead of next season.

Bellanova is currently only at Inter on loan, and whilst the Nerazzurri have a purchase option for the wingback, reports have suggested that they are not all that keen on exercising it.

The fact that the 22-year-old has found playing time as hard to come by as he has would seem to provide an obvious explanation as to why this would be the case.

According to Italian journalist Ceccarini, for the time being it is very much uncertain whether Inter will sign Bellanova on a permanent basis from Cagliari next season.

“Dumfries’s future is a question mark,” he writes, “the Dutch wingback is on the market, but after having initially wanted €40 million for him, Inter will have to go lower based on his recent form.”

“Accordingly, the question of Bellanova’s future is also open,” he adds, “it is far from clear whether or not the Nerazzurri will look to sign him permanently from Cagliari.”
