Inter will be keeping an eye on young Empoli midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi during his appearance for the Italian Under-21 national team against Ukraine this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 20-year-old is firmly on the Nerazzurri’s radar as a potential option in the attacking midfield position.

This season has been something of a breakout campaign for Baldanzi, who has been starting regularly for Empoli and has become a key player in the Tuscans’ midfield.

The 20-year-old’s importance to the team was seen in his performance against Inter at the San Siro, in which he scored to condemn the Nerazzurri to a shock Serie A defeat.

This was a moment that made clear to Inter just what Baldanzi is capable of, with his dribbling in tight areas, passing in the final third, and sense of when to arrive to finish off attacking moves all on display.

Inter will be scouting Baldanzi in this evening’s Italy Under-21 match, and could be convinced to make the young midfielder even more of a target than he already is.
