Inter won’t rush striker Edin Dzeko back from a minor back injury that the 37-year-old picked up while on international duty.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Bosnian is recovering from a minor lumbago, and that while it is not set to keep him out for too long, there is no hurry for him to get back on the pitch with the team set to return to action next weekend.

Dzeko felt a bit of back pain whilst on international duty with the Bosnia and Herzogvina national side, and diagnoses confirmed the presence of a lumbago.

The sense is that it will not rule the former Roma and Manchester City striker out for long, but given the number of matches that the team have next month, the priority is not to potentially worsen the injury with a premature return.

Dzeko will be further assessed in about 48 hours.
