Lazio are ready to rival Inter for the signature of Tigre striker Mateo Retegui.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that Biancocelesti have emerged among the suitors for the 23-year-old, but that the Nerazzurri could be front of the queue.

Retegui looks to have emerged very quickly on the radars of a number of major European clubs after his call-up for the Italian national team during the break.

The likes of AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are among the teams interested, although according to the Corriere Inter have been the team most strongly pushing for a move.

The newspaper notes that Nerazzurri Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin has been a fan of Retegui for some time and that there have already been talks with Tigre and with the player’s representatives.

However, the field of clubs looking to sign Retegui is becoming more crowded by the day, and the Corriere reports that Lazio have now also stepped up with interest.
