Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has said yes to the Nerazzurri’s offer of a new two-year contract on the same wages that he currently earns.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 31-year-old is set to sign a contract worth €4 million net per season until the end of June 2025, and that only the signatures are left.

Inter have been in talks with de Vrij and his agent Federico Pastorello regarding a new deal, as the club have not been keen to lose the Dutchman on a free transfer in the same summer that Milan Skriniar is also departing, whilst Francesco Acerbi’s future is also up in the air.

The former Lazio and Feyenoord defender has also been the subject of some reported interest from clubs in La Liga and elsewhere.

However, according to the Gazzetta, the player is ready to reject other offers to stay at the Nerazzurri.

The Italian outlet report that de Vrij has accepted Inter’s offer of a two-year deal, which will not see his current wages of around €4 million net per season change.

Now, a meeting will be planned in which de Vrij should put pen to paper on a new deal.
