Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard and Atlanta’s Giorgio Scalvini would be Inter’s two “dream” signings in defense, although neither would be easy to bring in on a financial level.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have marked out the pair as ideal targets in view of a looming summer rebuild in defense.
Whilst Stefan de Vrij looks ready to commit his future by signing a new contract with Inter, Milan Skriniar will leave at the end of the season, and Danilo D’Ambrosio could follow him if the 34-year-old doesn’t sign a new deal.
Meanwhile, Inter are hoping to make Francesco Acerbi’s signing from Lazio permanently but are hardly guaranteed to do so, and more worryingly for the club, are still some way from agreeing terms on a new contract with Alessandro Bastoni.
Accordingly, there is little doubt that Inter will have to sign defenders in the summer, but less clear is who they will be replacing.
Pavard and Scalvini are the two players who the Nerazzurri are looking at as ideal candidates, although both would require a big investment.
