The representatives of Tigre striker Mateo Retegui have held talks with Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen amid interest from Inter and a host of other clubs around Europe.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri remain one of the 23-year-old’s main suitors, but that the race for his signature is heating up as interest from the German top flight also rises.

Inter have been following Retegui for some time, and are still aiming to sign the Tigre striker.

However, the 23-year-old’s emergence in the Italian national team has meant that with it, the interest from all around Europe has emerged.

Inter are rivalled by the likes of Lazio, Udinese, Atalanta, and Atletico Madrid for Retegui.

The latter have reportedly already made a “substantial” offer according to the Corriere della Sera.

There is, in any event, little chance that Retegui would leave Tigre for a fee of less than €15 million.

Meanwhile, Eintracht have held a formal meeting with the 23-year-old Italy striker’s representatives, and Bayer Leverkusen have also made first contacts to make clear their interest in signing him.
