Inter are set to meet with the agent and father of Tigre striker Matteo Retegui amid strong interest from Lazio in signing the Italy star.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that Nerazzurri Assistant Sporting Director Dario Baccin will hold talks with the Retegui’s father Carlos as the competition for the 23-year-old’s signature heats up.

Inter are keen on signing Retegui, but they are well aware that the Tigre striker’s explosion onto the scene with the Italian national team has caused interest in him to emerge from a number of other clubs.

According to the Gazzetta, Lazio are serious about trying to sign the 23-year-old, and they believe that they can get a deal done.

However, Inter Assistant Sporting Director Baccin will meet with Retegui’s father, who is also his agent, this evening.

The Nerazzurri executive is keen to fend off the competition for the striker’s signature, whilst Inter can also offer striker Facundo Colidio to Tigre as part of a cash-plus-player deal for the 23-year-old.
