Inter coach Simone Inzaghi could feel that he is being “haunted” by the presence of a number of coaches who have been lined up as possible successors to him if he is to depart from the Nerazzurri this summer.

This is the suggestion of Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who particularly note the fact that the club seem to be looking at figures from their past which could further lead to insecurity around Inzaghi.

Whilst Inzaghi can have some reasons for confidence heading into a vitally important April, he will no well that if the team do not deliver the expected results fighting on all fronts during the month that his future could be elsewhere.

Moreover, Mediaset note, there is a certain sense of unease around the 46-year-old former Lazio coach on the basis that some of the names linked as possible replacements have associations with the Nerazzurri’s past.

Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho, and Thiago Motta are all “spectres” menacing Inzaghi from just out of view, the broadcaster reports, whilst there is also the persistent suggestion that the Nerazzurri could be plotting an ambitious swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi.
