Roma defender Chris Smalling and forward Paulo Dybala are likely to stay another season in the Italian capital despite transfer links to Inter in the summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Giallorossi are working to ensure that the pair remain at the club during the summer along with coach Jose Mourinho.

The form of Smalling for Roma this season has attracted transfer interest, with Inter leading the way.

The fact that the Englishman’s current contract runs out at the end of June has made a move for him particularly enticing.

However, the Corriere reports, it is looking likelier and likelier that Smalling will decide to stay and sign a new deal.

Meanwhile, Dybala’s future has also been the subject of speculation.

Inter had looked close to signing the 29-year-old Argentine international last summer, and could still be interested.

However, the Corriere report, it looks as though the former Juventus and Palermo player will stay.
