Inter are tracking current Lens and former Southampton defender Kevin Danso as a possible replacement for Milan Skriniar.

This according to French news outlet Jeunesfooteux, via FCInterNews, who report that the 24-year-old Austrian international has come onto the Nerazzurri’s radar as a possible defensive reinforcement for the summer.

Inter are looking high and low for possible options to replace Skriniar at the end of the season when the Slovakian leaves for Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires.

Meanwhile, the futures of Francesco Acerbi and Danilo D’Ambrosio at the club are also uncertain, further adding to the need to look into defensive targets.

According to Jeunesfooteux, Lens defender Danso is a player who the Nerazzurri are looking into in this respect.

Limited impact in the Premier League but shining in Ligue 1

Danso played for Southampton on loan from Augsburg during the 2019-20 season, but was never really able to establish a firm place for himself in the Saints lineup.

Ten appearances in all competitions that season, six of which were in the English top flight, meant that the Premier League club declined to sign the Austrian on a permanent basis.

However, Danso has really found his feet playing for Lens in France, where he has so far made 64 appearances for the side who currently sit third in the Ligue 1 table.

The Austrian joined Lens from Augsburg in 2021 following a season on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf, and hasn’t looked back.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old is an established Austrian international, having been capped thirteen times by his national team.

Danso’s current contract with Lens is set to run out at the end of June 2026, and according to Transfermarkt he is valued at around €16 million.

According to Jeunesfooteux, the Austrian is now very much on Inter’s radar for the summer, whilst the French outlet also confirms that Nerazzurri’s interest in Red Bull Salzburg defender and France youth international Oumar Solet.
