Inter are set to make a final decision regarding the fitness of wingback Federico Dimarco for Saturday’s Serie A match against Fiorentina tomorrow.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the question of the 25-year-old’s availability for this weekend’s match is set to go down to the wire, as the final decision will wait until tomorrow.

Dimarco has not yet made a return to full training, as the 25-year-old continues to recover from the injury that he picked up during the Nerazzurri’s Serie A match against Juventus before the international break.

The wingback had started the match against the Bianconeri, in which he was the only available option on the left flank due to an injury to Robin Gosens.

However, Dimarco had to come off as a substitute during the second half of the match due to having picked up an abdominal injury.

Danilo D’Ambrosio replaced Dimarco as a makeshift leftback during that match, although the 34-year-old will not be available against Fiorentina due to suspension.

Whilst Gosens has returned to full training ahead of this weekend’s match against Fiorentina, as has defender Alessandro Bastoni, Dimarco has yet to do so.

There is still hope that the 25-year-old can be fit and available for Saturday’s return to Serie A action.

However, it is uncertain, and if Dimarco is to get fit for the match it will just be in the nick of time.

Dimarco had been called up to the Italy national team by Azzurri coach Roberto Mancini for the EURO 2024 qualifiers during the international break initially.

However, the Nerazzurri man had to pull out of the squad due to his injury, as he has stayed back in Milan and worked on his recovery.

Dimarco has made a total of 37 appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions this season.
