Inter target Manuel Lazzari could leave Lazio during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 29-year-old remains on the Nerazzurri’s radar, and that his name could come up in talks regarding the future of Francesco Acerbi.

Lazzari has come up as a target for Inter in the past, perhaps unsurprisingly given the former SPAL man’s links with current Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

The 29-year-old had played under Inzaghi in the past four two seasons whilst their paths crossed at the Bianconeri.

Lazzari showed some of his best form playing in the wingback role of Inzaghi’s typical 3-5-2 formation.

Accordingly, the Italy international was one of the targets in the summer of 2021 when the Nerazzurri were in search of a player to replace Achraf Hakimi on the right flank, whilst he has also been linked as a possible replacement for Denzel Dumfries.

Whilst Lazzari has managed to carve out more playing time this time than he had last campaign, the sense remains that he is a bit of a square peg in a round hole playing the right-back role in current Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri’s system.

Accordingly, Il Messaggerio suggest that there is a real chance that Lazzari could leave in the summer.

Moreover, the Rome-based newspaper suggest that the 29-year-old’s name could come up in talks between Inter and Lazio regarding the future of defender Acerbi.

There is no doubt that the Nerazzurri and the Biancocelesti will have to sit down and discuss the future of Acerbi, given that the 35-year-old is only at Inter on loan until the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether the deal will be made permanent.

Whilst the two clubs are already in talks, therefore, Lazzari’s name could well come up, particularly given that there is a strong possibility that Inter will be looking for a right-wingback signing to replace Denzel Dumfries.
