Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram has revealed that he does not intend to join Inter this summer.

This according to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, who reports in a tweet that the 25-year-old is close to making a decision on his future, and that his next club will not be the Nerazzurri.

Thuram is set to leave Gladbach on a free transfer when his current contract with the Bundesliga club runs out at the end of the season.

Inter have already offered the Frenchman a contract, with reports having suggested that he is one of their major targets in attack for next season.

The Nerazzurri’s pursuit was ongoing during the World Cup, as they held meetings with his representatives.

Thuram had already been on the Nerazzurri’s radar in the past, having looked close to joining in the summer of 2021 as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku following the Belgian’s move to Chelsea.

However, there has also been no shortage of interest from other clubs in Thuram’s signature.

The 25-year-old has been on the radar of German champions Bayern Munich, and of clubs in the Premier League as well as La Liga and even Paris Saint-Germain.

The fact that a player of Thuram’s quality will be available without a transfer fee during the summer transfer has certainly been a big factor in the interest that has arisen in signing the former Guingamp man.

It looks as though this could be the reason that Inter will miss out on their man, as Thuram has had any number of clubs to choose from.

As of yet it is not certain where Thuram will go when he leaves Gladbach at the end of the season.

However, Italian journalist Barzaghi expects that it will certainly not be Inter, as the Frenchman has reportedly made clear that the Nerazzurri are not his preferred destination.

He tweeted that “Marcus Thuram has made it known that he’ll soon reveal where his future will be, and it’s not going to be at Inter.”
