Juventus head coach Max Allegri would be on Inter’s shortlist of candidates to replace Simone Inzaghi at the end of the current season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 55-year-old is a candidate to take over at the Nerazzurri next season, as are Roma’s Jose Mourinho and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone.

Inzaghi’s future on the Inter bench is far from certain, and whilst the 46-year-old is not set to be sacked immediately, his days at the club may be numbered.

It has even been reported that Inzaghi could be on his way in a little over a week in the event that results do not pick up soon.

As far as the end of the season goes, it is certainly looking less and less probable that the former Lazio boss will be able to stay in his position, given that the Nerazzurri have already lost ten matches in Serie A this campaign.

According to Tuttosport, Allegri is one of the candidates to replace the 46-year-old ahead of next season.

This would of course be contingent on the former AC Milan and Sassuolo coach departing from the Bianconeri, but it is hard to rule this out as a possibility either.

Allegri had already been linked with the Nerazzurri during the summer of 2021 as a replacement for Antonio Conte, before he instead returned to Juventus.

Inter could still consider the 55-year-old to be a suitable candidate to take over, this time from Inzaghi.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport report, both of Atletico Madrid’s Simeone and Roma’s Mourinho are candidates to replace Inzaghi ahead of next season as well.

In the case of the former, the Argentine has been widely reported to be ready to step down from the Atletico bench after more than a decade in charge.

Simeone has reportedly always had a strong ambition to one day coach Inter.
