Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani will be given a rare opportunity to start in a league match against Salernitana this evening, whilst Joaquin Correa will also start the match.

This according to Italian journalist Alfio Musmarra, via FCInter1908, who reports that both of the pair will be in the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven as coach Simone Inzaghi is prepared to rotate the squad significantly just three days after a Coppa Italia match against Juventus.

Inter have barely had time to catch their breath following Tuesday’s match away to Juventus, and they have another tough away trip on their hands, this time to the Stadio Arechi in Salerno to face Salernitana.

It is a match that the Nerazzurri can ill afford anything other than three points out of, as they have already lost their three most recent matches in the league.

According to Musmarra, Inter coach Inzaghi is prepared to freshen things up.

Perhaps the most eye-catching player in the lineup is Asllani, who has not been given the chance to start all that often in the holding midfield role, but is set to start against the Granata.

The injury to Hakan Calhanoglu as well as the fact that Marcelo Brozovic could use a rest would be the main factors leading the 21-year-old to be selected to start.

Meanwhile, Musmarra anticipates that Correa will start in attack alongside Romelu Lukaku, as he had done against Fiorentina in the Nerazzurri’s last league outing.

Lautaro Martinez had started against Juventus in the Coppa Italia in midweek, but the 25-year-old looked in need of a rest, and so it is likely to be Correa who starts in attack.

Musmarra’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven for this evening’s match at the Arechi is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Gosens; Lukaku, Correa
