Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has been offered to Inter on a free transfer for the summer transfer window, but the Nerazzurri are not interested in his signature.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old Guinean international has been offered to the Nerazzurri when he leaves the Reds at the end of the season when his current contract expires, but that his wages and injury issues would make an move unlikely.

Five seasons after joining Liverpool from RB Leipzig during the summer of 2023, Keita is set to leave Anfield on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old’s contract with the Premier League giants runs out at the end of June, and he will not sign a new deal with the club.

Despite the fact that Keita has won the Champions League and Premier League during his time with the Reds, on an individual level the Guinean has never really lived up to the expectations that were placed on him when he joined from Leipzig.

Injuries have been a major part of the reason for this being the case, with the former Red Bull Salzburg having struggled with a number of physical problems ever since his first season on Merseyside.

It is not yet clear where Keita will go for next season when his deal with Liverpool runs out.

According to FCIN, the Guinean has been offered to Inter.

The Nerazzurri are set to sign at least one midfielder during the summer, to replace Roberto Gagliardini given that the 29-year-old former Atalanta midfielder is himself set to leave at the end of the season on a free transfer.

However, according to FCIN, there is little interest from Inter in signing the Liverpool midfielder.

The outlet reports that the wages that Keita would still command, and the aforementioned injury problems, are the key reasons why the Nerazzurri are not likely to sign the 28-year-old.
