Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that the team are all ready for getting through the final stretch of the season.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of this evening’s match against Monza in Serie A, via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old emphasized the importance of kicking on from Tuesday’s win over Benfica in the Champions League over the rest of the team’s fixtures.

Inter got a massive result in Lisbon on Tuesday, bouncing back from their woeful run of form in the league to give themselves hope for the remainder of the season, with the team still fighting on three fronts.

However, the fact remains that the Nerazzurri now absolutely must start winning again in Serie A if they are to keep their heads above water in the race for a top four spot in the table.

The win over Benfica was a start, but the fact remains that the Nerazzurri have no margin for error in any of the competitions that they’re in, and must seek consistency over the remaining matches of the campaign.

Consistency has been precisely what has been missing at many points during the season, and so it will remain to be seen whether the Nerazzurri can really keep up the level that they displayed against Benfica at the Estadio da Luz.

From the perspective or Asllani, however, the young midfielder feels that the team have done everything they can to be prepared for the challenges that lay ahead for them.

“We have to give continuity to the match that we played against Benfica,” the Albanian midfielder said, “today we’ll do everything we can to get the best out of this match.”

“We know that we’re facing a strong team who can play openly against anyone, so we have to be determined,” he continued.

“We have to take to the pitch with the right kind of determination,” Asllani suggested.

“We have to show respect for Monza, but we know that we’ve dropped a lot of points and we have to recover, so we have to claw every one back,” he added.

Asked if the team are ready to face the final run-in of the season, Asllani replied “Yes, definitely, and I’ll do my best to help the team.”

Asllani also briefly spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, remarking of Monza that “They play good, open football, but we just have to focus on ourselves and find the right determination.”

Moments later, via FCInterNews, Asllani told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia that his teammates Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcelo Brozovic “Are both top players and very experienced, every day I ask them for areas where I can improve.”
