Inter Milan lost 0-1 to Monza in 2022/2023 Serie A Match Day 30 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, after a woeful performance which is reflected in the SempreInter.com Inter Milan player ratings.

The Nerazzurri started the game OK but barely created anything of quality except for a Joaquin Correa shot which was saved by Monza keeper Di Gregorio.

In the second half, it was even worse than the first, with a complete lack of intensity, energy, no ideas, no cohesion until Caldirola scored what became the only goal of the game.

Woeful Inter can kiss Champions League football next season goodbye unless they go on and win the Champions League this season.

Inter Milan Player Ratings Vs Monza

André Onana – 5,5: Was left out to dry on the goal where the opposition had a free header. Did not have much action, as Monza had only 2 shots on target all match.

Matteo Darmian – 6 (MOTM): The ‘least bad’ of the squad today. Made good interceptions and had an exceptional forward run, creating a decent chance for his teammates.

Stefan de Vrij – 5: Unfortunately came off due to injury early in second half after stopping a possible goal-scoring opportunity with a strong tackle. Unlucky.

Alessandro Bastoni – 4: Got skinned several times, and completely lost his man on the corner-kick that led to the only goal of the match. Bad night for the young defender.

Denzel Dumfries – 4: Really poor first half and shocking that he played the full match.Lost nearly all of his duels and looked absolutely lost on the pitch.

Nicolo Barella – 5: Today’s performance dipped far below his standards. Struggled heavily in the final third and a poor display in terms of his passing and shooting.

Kristjan Asllani – 5: Had moments where he showed his quality, but offset these moments with ones where he showed his inexperience and immaturity on the pitch.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 5: Being run into the ground by playing nearly the entire match week in, week out. Deserves a rest and clearly shows that he needs one soon.

Robin Gosens – 4,5: Hardly made an impact on the match today. Did not win a single duel, did not complete a single cross or long ball. Night to forget for the German.

Joaquin Correa – 4: Overcomplicated things far too much in the first half. Could and should have had 2 or more goals, but loses all composure in the opposing box.

Romelu Lukaku – 4: Has lost all confidence to turn and shoot in the box. Looks timid and scared on the ball, laying it off to his teammates and losing interest afterwards.

Substitutes:

Francesco Acerbi – 6: Replaced an injured Stefan de Vrij in the 50′ minute. Came on and created chances while providing defensive cover. Good cameo all things considered.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5,5: Substituted on for Kristjan Asllani in the 71′ minute and showed how he commands the midfield. His presence was immediately noticed.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 5,5: Brought on in the 71′ for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and looked more lively than any other Inter midfielder. Showed how much the team misses him.

Lautaro Martinez – 4: Entered in the 71′ minute for Joaquin Corera and missed a big chance that could have leveled the scoreline. Another shocking performance in front of goal.

Edin Dzeko – N/A: Came on in the 81′ minute for Matteo Darmian. Did not play enough to be able to be rated.

Manager

Simone Inzaghi – 4: Constantly being let down by his players. Something has to change and fast. Starting lineup was alright and should have been enough to win but failed.

Referee

Luca Pairetto – 6: Questionable minor calls throughout the match, such as offside calls and other minor fouls. Had no major calls to decide and did well for the most part.

Team Performance

Inter – 3: No words, yet again. Pathetic in front of goal. The entire squad looks low on confidence and now has failed to win for 5th straight Serie A match. Incredible.
