Former Inter striker Nicola Ventola feels that, even though Benfica have been impressive in the Champions League, the Nerazzurri wilkl be able to get past them in tomorrow’s quarterfinal second leg.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, the former striker backed the Nerazzurri to get the tie over the line at the San Siro tomorrow.

Inter will hardly be thinking that they got the job done by beating Benfica 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie.

The Portuguese league leaders have proven throughout this season that they can get a result against anyone in Europe, and the Nerazzurri’s own form has taken some wild swings throughout the campaign and particularly in recent weeks.

However, the fact remains that the two-goal advantage the Inter carry into the second leg from Lisbon gives them something quite substantial to protect in the league.

From the perspective of Adani, it may simply be the case that Benfica’s adventure in the Champions League ends here.

The Lisbon giants certainly got some big eye-catching results in the form of wins against Juventus, draws against Paris Saint-Germain, and a 7-1 aggregate thrashing of Club Brugge in the round of sixteen of the Champions League.

Asked if he thinks that the tie is finished off against Benfica, Adani replied “In my opinion, yes.”

“These matches can shine a light teams, Benfica made miracles in 2022 but now the real quality is starting to emerge,” he continued.

“Inter are the much stronger team, and in my view they’ll get through it relatively smoothly, with the top players who they have compared to Benfica,” Adani argued.

The former striker suggested that “In my view, Benfica have had a lot of great tactical ideas, but in terms of the strength of their squad they are some way behind Inter.”
