The two derby rivals will have the eyes of all of Europe, and they will play for a place in the continent’s biggest club match against either Manchester City or Real Madrid.

There is still a long way to go, as the three matches to reach glory will be among the toughest that Inter will ever face.

However, if the team get go all the way, they will truly become a big part of the club’s story.

“We’re extremely happy, because Inter hadn’t reached the semifinals of this competition for a number of years, and now we’re one step away from reaching the final,” Dimarco said after the draw against Benfica.

“There’s something inside us that’s making a difference, you rarely get a chance of going this far, we can write history,” he added.

Of the two-legged tie against Milan in the semifinals, Dimarco stressed that “We’ll have to think about the league first, and then the second leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal, and then we’ll think about Milan.”

The 25-year-old also spoke to Amazon Prime, via FCInterNews, stating that “This is good, but there’s still one step left before we get to the final.”

“We played a good match up until we allowed a few counterattacks due to a lack of attention,” he added.

Of his assist for Lautaro Martinez, Dimarco said that “I work during the week so I can assist my teammate, but the important thing is that the team wins.”
