Bologna Sporting Director Marco Di Vaio expects the future of coach Thiago Motta to be discussed at the end of the season, after the Rossoblu have finished up with this campaign.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the former executive gave an update on the 40-year-old’s future amid links to Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ever since joining Bologna in the fall to replace Sinisa Mihajlovic following the latter’s illness, Motta has been winning plaudits for the job that he has been doing.

The former Inter, PSG, and Genoa midfielder has gotten results, and done so in style.

This has naturally led to some suggestions that it may not be too long before Motta winds up at a bigger club than the Rossoblu.

Chief among these have been two of his former clubs in the form of the Nerazzurri and PSG.

Given that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s future is very much in doubt given the team’s highly erratic form in Serie A, the club could soon be in search of a replacement.

Meanwhile, PSG also look as though they could be looking to replace their own coach Christophe Galtier during the summer.

As such, Motta’s name has been linked with both of the pair, potentially being a target on their benches as early as this summer.

For his part, Rossoblu Sporting Director Di Vaio made a point of emphasizing that whatever may be in the future for Motta, it is not yet the time to talk about these things given that they still have the rest of the season to think about, although in a few weeks’ time there could be discussions.

Asked about the Inter and PSG links, Di Vario replied that “I’d answer that Motta still has one year on his contract with us.”

“And also that we want to build with him.”

“At the end of the season we’ll discuss everything,” the Sporting Director added.

“He knows we appreciate him, from the President downwards.”

“And he’s also said that he’s happy here in Bologna, Thiago is a very serious person.”
