Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario would be Inter’s top target to replace Andre Onana in goal in the event that the Cameroonian were to be sold this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri would be ready to move quickly to sign the 27-year-old, who is valued at around €15 million, if they decide to accept a bid for Onana.

Whilst Onana only arrived at Inter less than twelve months ago from Ajax, the rumour mill is already spinning that the 27-year-old could be sold if the right offer comes along.

The keeper is reportedly a target for both of Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League, and according to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri would be willing to listen to offers of around €40-45 million for him particularly if they were to miss out on Champions League football next season.

Accordingly, Inter are starting to put their plan in place to replace Onana should the Cameroonian were to depart.

Clear at the top of the Nerazzurri’s list, Tuttosport reports, is Empoli keeper Vicario.

The 26-year-old has been one of the outstanding performers for Empoli since the Tuscans were promoted to Serie A at the start of the 2021-22 season, and has also been linked with Juventus.

Inter have been in contact with Vicario’s agent Gabriele Giuffredi, making their interest known as the keeper is seen as a player who is ready to make the step up to a top club.

As Tuttosport notes, Inter have a positive relationship with Empoli, having made deals for both Kristjan Asllani and Martin Satriano just last summer, whilst there are ongoing talks regarding young midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi.

As such, the Nerazzurri would be able to get a deal done for Vicario at a fee of around €15 million, according to the newspaper.
