Danilho Doekhi’s agent, Seraino Dalgliesh, has confirmed exclusively to SempreInter.com that Inter Milan and Napoli are following the 1 FC Union Berlin defender.

Dalgliesh adds that Inter are not the only Serie A club looking at Doekhi, as Napoli are also following the player closely as are top clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga.

A couple of weeks ago SempreInter.com broke the story that Inter and Napoli are interested in Doekhi, something Dalgliesh has now confirmed.

Doekhi’s contract is set to expire in June 2025 Dalgliesh confirms and underlines that the player is focused on getting current club 1 FC Union Berlin into a surprising top four Bundesliga finish, which would mean Champions League football next season.

“Danilho has two years left on his contract. I can’t reveal any other details about his contract. But it is true that Inter and Napoli just like other top clubs in Europe, including in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, are all looking at him.

“This is not a surprise because there are no other center backs in Europe who score this amount of goals in combination with his defensive pedigree.

“But there are no negotiations going on right now. Danilho is focused on his season with FC Union Berlin and qualifying for the Champions League next season.”

‘Like A Mix Of John Terry & Ricardo Carvalho’

Danilho Doekhi, who was born June 30 1998, has had a great season with the Bundesliga outfit with his aerial ability being particularly impressive, which as Dalgliesh reveals, is statistically on par with NBA star Joel Embiid.

“I like to think of him as a mix of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho only much taller. He is good on the ball, extremely powerful in 1 v 1 situations defensively, and he is unstoppable in the air.

“Tests have shown that Danilho’s vertical leap is higher then that of  NBA player Joel Embiid” Dalgliesh concludes.

Doekhi, who has drawn comparisons to Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk, has to date scored 5 goals in 31 matches across all competitions since joining 1 FC Union Berlin in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer.

Doekhi is one of a whole host of defenders Inter are linked with to replace Slovakian international Milan Skriniar, who is destined to leave the Nerazzurri this summer on a free transfer to join Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.

Ex-Chelsea & Barcelona Star’s Nephew

Doekhi came up the youth ranks at Excelsior from Rotterdam, the city he was born and raised in. He joined the Ajax youth set-up in the summer of 2016 but never featured for the first team.

In July 2018 he signed a four-year deal with Vitesse where he spent four successful seasons, featuring 140 times across all competitions for the club, scoring five times in the process.
