Inter forward Joaquin Correa and wingback Raoul Bellanova have received a bit of criticism for their performances in yesterday evening’s Serie A win over Empoli.

The pair are singled out as the least impressive Nerazzurri players in the player ratings for the 3-0 league victory published in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Whilst the majority of the Inter players on the pitch were naturally deemed to have been up to par given that the team won the match comfortably in the end, Correa and Bellanova could have done better, Tuttosport argues.

In the case of Correa, the newspaper argues that the Argentine former Lazio and Sevilla man always looked a half a step behind play in attack, limiting the effectiveness of his contribution in the final third.

Meanwhile, Bellanova was frequently used as an outlet in the first half of the match in particular, but his radar was a bit off in terms of his crossing and final ball which contributed to the Nerazzurri’s sloppiness in the final third in the view of Tuttosport.

Both players receive 5.5/10 scores for their displays.

Meanwhile, in midfield both Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcelo Brozovic get grades of 6.5/10 for the role they played in setting the tempo of the whole match.

Nicolo Barella receives a 6/10 score, with the main reason that it was not higher being that the 26-year-old unnecessarily talked himself into the book whilst his team were leading 2-0, a potential blunder if he ends up suspended later in the season.

Match-winner Romelu Lukaku was naturally given the highest score of any Nerazzurri player, with Tuttosport deeming the Belgian’s haul of two goals and one assist in the second to be worthy of a 7.5/10 grade.

Lautaro Martinez, scorer of Inter’s third, is given a solid 6.5/10 grade for his appearance from the bench in the second half.
