Referee Daniele Doveri will be the referee in charge of Inter’s Coppa Italia semifinal second leg against Juventus on Wednesday.

This is confirmed by an official announcement of the officiating crews for both semifinal second legs in the competition to be played this week, as reported by FCInterNews.

45-year-old referee Doveri has been refereeing matches at the Serie A level since the 2009-10 season, having been refereeing in Italian football since the 2006-07 campaign.

The Italian official has taken charge of Champions League and Europa League qualifying round matches as well

This season, Doveri has been in charge of one Inter match so far, which was also against Juvenuts, having been assigned to the Bianconeri’s 2-0 win against the Nerazzurri in November.

Assisting Doveri in his duties will be Filippo Meli and Stefano Alassio, whilst the role of fourth official will be filled Maurizio Mariani.

In the VAR room, Aleandro Di Paolo will oversee the match to ensure that any errors made by the on-pitch crew are corrected, whilst he will be assisted in his duties by Antonio Di Martino.

The Nerazzurri will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch as they aim to book their place in the final of the Coppa Italia for the second season running, a competition in which they beat Juventus in the final last season.

The Derby d’Italia is, however, a match which is rarely too far away from controversy, and this was certainly the case in the semifinal first leg.

That match saw a chaotic brawl at the end of what had otherwise been an usually quiet edition of the fixture, sparked after Davide Massa sent off Inter striker Romelu Lukaku for a goal celebration amid racist chants from Bianconeri supporters.

Assigned to the other quarterfinal second leg between Fiorentina and Cremonese will be Livio Marinelli, who had been the referee for Inter’s Serie A win over Empoli yesterday afternoon.
