Inter and Juventus are set to face off for a place in the Coppa Italia final this evening, but their hostilities could resume off the pitch during the summer transfer window.

This is the suggestion in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who name Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini, Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario, and West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca as three players the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri could go head-to-head for.

Both Inter and Juventus will be aiming to reinforce their squads in the summer with a focus on looking for young Italian players with room to grow and build around into the future.

In this sense, no one fits the bill better than young Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini.

Yet to turn twenty, the young defender has proved himself more than capable of looking at home as one of the first names on the teamsheet for a side who are pushing for European football.

The 19-year-old has taken to the rigours of playing under La Dea coach Gian Perio Gasperini, and looks both versatile and technically proficient enough to be able to play at the Champions League level for more than a decade.

Then there is striker Scamacca, who could well leave West Ham just one season after joining from Saassuolo, given the disappointing campaign he has endured in the Premier League.

Inter have been keen on the 24-year-old since he was a Neroverdi player and have him on their list in view of the likely attacking turnover to take place during the summer.

Lastly, in the form if Vicario, the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri could duke it out to sign one of the most promising goalkeepers in Serie A ovver the past couple seasons.

The 26-year-old is reportedly Inter’s top target to replace Chelsea-linked Andre Onana, whilst Juventus have also been persistently linked as they contemplate a long-term succession plan for Wojcjech Szczesny.
