Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is set to be in the starting eleven for tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Belgian will be given the chance to shine from the start against the Biancocelesti, hoping to give the Nerazzurri a big boost in their pursuit of top four.

Whilst Lukaku has been fit and available for the past few weeks, and has looked to have found match rhythm with more playing time and closer to his usual self physically rather than being affected by injury, he has still not started every match.

On the contrary, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has rotated the attack virtually from match to match in attack, with the Belgian having been starting in the league recently but coming off the bench in knockout matches.

This was the case against Juventus in the Coppa Italia semifinal second leg on Wednesday evening, as Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez were the starting pair in attack whilst Lukaku and Joaquin Correa came off the bench to see out the match in the second half.

According to the Corriere, however, it is certain that the Belgian will start against Lazio tomorrow afternoon, regardless of who partners him in attack.

Last weekend Lukaku had certainly made the kind of impact that’s expected of him with a match-winning brace and assist for Martinez during the second half away to Empoli, the Nerazzurri’s first win in six matches.

Now, the 29-year-old will be hoping that he can find greater consistency and continuity in the league by following up that performance with a similar impact against Lazio.

Whilst Lukaku has certainly not been up the the anticipated level for much of this season, there is still a chance for him to finally come good starting with tomorrow afternoon.
