Italian journalist Marco Bucciantini feels that on the evidence of yesterday afternoon’s Serie A win over Lazio, Inter have everything it takes to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, the journalist suggested that the Nerazzurri gave a clear sign that they’re capable of making a comeback into the top four of the league table with their emphatic win over the Biancocelesti.

Mathematically, Inter are now level on points with AC Milan and Roma in the top four of the Serie A table.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have reduced the deficit from Lazio to four points, whilst a Juventus draw away to Bologna means that the Nerazzurri are now three points away from the Biancocelesti.

Then, there is Atalanta who came within six points of Lazio and two points of the top four with their win over Torino, in what has proved to be a weekend that made the race for the top four look a lot tighter than it had before the matches began.

The fact that Inter’s win came against the team in second spot in the table certainly made it a real statement, and if the Nerazzurri are able to keep playing at the same level throughout the run-in, they could have every chance of regaining their spot in the top four when the end of the campaign arrives.

This is certainly the view of journalist Bucciantini, who feels that this Inter are undoubtedly capable of making good on this kind of performance and booking their spot in the Champions League group stage for next season.

“This Inter are going to qualify for the Champions League,” he declared.

“They played a brilliant match in a big game, and then a lot will be decided by which of the big teams lack consistency down the stretch,” he added.

“It’s never easy to attack Lazio, but Inter did so very well, the forwards are hitting the next level and becoming decisive.”
