Inter wingback Robin Gosens is aiming to make his return from a shoulder injury in the Nerazzurri’s Champions League semifinal first leg match against AC Milan later this month.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 28-year-old German international had the dislocated shoulder that he suffered during yesterday’s match against Lazio x-rayed, and the scan revealed that there was no bone bruise and he should be fit for the clash with the Rossoneri.

Gosens picking up an injury was the one bad point in for Inter in the team’s Serie A win over Lazio yesterday afternoon.

The German had come on during the second half as a substitute, and had a very telling impact in the form of the Nerazzurri’s winning goal, as he latched onto a Romelu Lukaku cross to bundle the ball past Biancocelesti goalkeeper Ivan Provedel.

However, the former Atalanta man had to jump high to get to the ball with an acrobatic volley, and in the act of scoring fell in an awkward position, landing on his shoulder and evidently causing himself no shortage of physical distress.

It was immediately obvious that Gosens was experiencing some pain after he fell to the ground, and the 28-year-old indicated to the bench that he would have to come off despite having only come onto the pitch as a second half substitute.

The German was immediately diagnosed with having dislocated his shoulder by the club’s medical staff in the dressing rooms after coming off, although it was not immediately clear the extent of the injury or how long it might rule him out for.

According to the Gazzetta, however, an x-ray today indicated that the bone has reset into its normal position, and that there has been no bone bruising following the injury.

Accordingly, the newspaper reports, Gosens will now aim to be back on the pitch in time for the first leg of the Nerazzurri’s two-legged Milan derby semifinal against AC Milan in the Champions League.
