Antonio Cassano thinks Simone Inzaghi’s performance is unsatisfactory given Inter Milan has the best squad in the Serie A on paper together with Juventus.

The former Inter, AC Milan and Real Madrid striker argued this point on Bobo TV on streaming service Twitch after the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 win over Lazio, as reported via Italian Inter Milan news-site FcInter1908.

The former Italy stiker argued that in the clash against Lazio, the Nerazzurri dominated and deserved to win, although Maurizio Sarri’s Biancocelesto didn’t play badly either.

Cassano, who won a Serie A title with the Rossoneri back in 2011, also underlined how he always tells the truth about what he sees, despite being open about being an Inter fan.

Champions League Glory Key To Salvaging Season

When asked about how well he thinks Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has done this season Inter, Cassano insisted that it has not been good enough but added that Champions League glory would change the narrative completely.

“The most beautiful image from Inter-Lazio was Vieri’s celebration with his daughter after the Nerazzurri’s goal.

“Us four being Inter fans? I’ve always criticized Lukaku, Inzaghi, Marotta. I’m an Inter fan, but if my beloved team plays badly, I say it. If Inter does well and wins, I’m happy. We always tell the truth.

“Inter-Lazio showcased the Nerazzurri’s dominance. Lazio didn’t play poorly, but Inter stepped up and deserved to win. Inter – along with Juventus in my opinion – has the strongest squad in the league.

“In decisive matches, players give it their all in both the Serie A and Champions League. Against smaller teams, Inter is so much stronger that they can’t afford to drop points even if they’re missing a player who’s good at one-on-ones.

“Coppa Italia final, Champions League semi-final, Inzaghi is now getting it right. I don’t think the coach’s work, who seems like a nice guy, is satisfactory.

“Inzaghi lost the Scudetto with Milan last year and are now 22 points behind Napoli, an eternity. The Champions League can save the coach’s season, whether they win or lose.

“On paper, Inter is stronger than Milan. If Inter don’t win the Champions League, the season isn’t even a six [out of ten],” Cassano concluded.
