While AC Milan are set to break the Match Day revenue record by hosting the first leg of the Champion League semi-final, Inter Milan are tipped to overdo their rivals in the second leg.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Milan will break the Italian record as they’re set to collect more than €10 million from the box office and the rest of the Match day revenue when they host the much-anticipated first leg against Inter at the San Siro on May 10.

This will become the most-grossing football match ever in Italy in terms of Match Day revenue, overcoming the €9,133,842 that the Rossoneri collected when they hosted Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League Round of 16 earlier this season.

However, the record won’t stand for long, as Inter Milan will break it when they host the second leg of the semi-final on May 16.

Needless to say, the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium will be sold out on both occasions. However, the Nerazzurri have set higher ticket prices, hence, they will likely register a new Italian record.

Moreover, the source reveals that the Nerazzurri will allow season-ticket holders for more than four years the opportunity to buy two extra tickets for their family members ahead of the decisive second leg.

For their part, Inter Club members and Siamo Noi cardholders will have the chance to buy their tickets for the grand occasion on Friday.
